kayak east
As the kayak from the current?
I went out into the Pacific Ocean on the second day. It was my first time kayaking (rediculously stupid, I know). Well, it was really easy to get out into the ocean, it seemed that I was making nice progress to go further (west). Anyway, I tried to go in, it was a struggle to turn my kayak to the east. It tried to turn northwest. Even though I managed to get back to the east, and paddled in my power, it was a struggle to get back to shore. Thank God I'm back. I think I was in the stream, so my question is how to get out kayaking streams? I know that swimming in the rip tides to swim perpendicular to the current (I do not know as it is effective though, never been in one). So what do you do for a kayak from the current? As in the case of the current pulls toward the northwest, but I needed to go to the east or southeast. Thanks.
It sounds like your problem may be wind is up. Most sea kayaks tend vane – that is, turn into the wind. This is easy to operate ships in headwind (although it can be physically demanding in a strong wind), but difficult wave. Skeg and rudder to help neutralize the effects of wind, as well as wooden boat with a good sweep stroke (what you learn in class, sea kayaking). Currently Being cause that your drifting kayak course, but it will not turn it as you described. Entering into or termination of strong, well-defined current can rotate, but it is a question for the rivers and some areas on the open ocean.
