Winter Kayaking Checklist

Depending on where you live, winter kayaking may seem a little daunting. If weather turned cold in your neck of the forest, wears the right kayak equipment is very important that your paddling adventures nice. Below is a list of winter kayak, verify whether they are warm, dry and happy.

One of the most important things to remember while kayaking in the winter is to wear cotton. Seriouslyâ € | do not wear cotton! Cotton, in principle, no soak up water and hold it against the skin. In essence, it can do freeze. So no cotton.

Your next layer should be your insulation so either fleece or sweater, and your top layer should be your waterproof jacket and trousers.

Keep your legs arms and head warm and dry. In other words, you will need water shoes for your feet and maybe a few water socks, a good pair of gloves and toque kayak.

Many people use either a wetsuit or Drysuit during kayaking in cooler weather. Wetsuit is much more affordable option, and probably all of them will need, especially if you are recreational kayaker. Drysuit, but very clever piece of clothing in a kayak is really only worth money if you are hardcore kayaker.
