I have some questions about kayaking?
So, I really like to get into kayak ... it is something that always interested me and now I have a better paid job, it's something I think I could take! =] Anyway, I have no idea where to even begin! Do I need an instruction class? What kind of kayak should I get? Like ... are certain types better for certain people? Are there any place I could kayak regularly as a club / group to join or something? Or should I just sign up for various tours here and there? (Are they more for tourists?) What kind of clothing should be worn during the kayaking? Sorry for all the questions, I really spankin 'new this ... I know nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
All the questions you asked are good questions, but you really do not give enough information. Taking a class is always a great way to start, but first you must decide what type of kayaking you want to do. Want to go out on a white water rivers, or on a nice quiet lake or even out in the ocean, or a combination of all the above. What to do with a kayak will determine what type of kayak much more than the person paddling the kayak to buy. I think it's best to to do for now is to find a link to a great website that will help them to answer all your questions. Paddling.net give you places where you can take lessons, you can join clubs and all reviews of kayaks and places to kayak you can read.
