someone is using 11 to 34 have 10 speed cassette?
I stopped my bike for touring caravan and camping Kayak 11-27 Ultegra just does not cut it, I found 11-32 11-34 and 10 speed cassette on IRC @ $ 139 Any idea how they work? Same rear derailler?, of course, would increase the chain length to 57 "for 34 I run a triple Ultegra Gruppo currently runs 10 speed cassette
I do not know how they do under load with a trailer, but they are cool the market differently. IRD makes good things. You can still use 9-spd rear derailleur with them, but you need to buy new teeth to accommodate more. Most drivers derailleur max out at 26 tons or 27 tons cog. There are some disadvantages of 10-SPD .... their best use is for fast road ride. Why not stick with 9-spd cassette, which runs 12-32, or thereabouts? You can get several of those Mfrs. If you just want to drop a much more in cash, seems to be easier to do it and you still get gear you want. Moreover 10th Rear Gear not really a big problem. EDIT: note in response to SFR1224 answers below ..... need new 10-SPD or new derailleur converters for the switch. In a newspaper article last month IRD was quoted as saying that 9-spd rear derailleur work cool with their 10-SPD cartridges. People who converted to 10-SPD already know ..... distance for the tape is the same, so if you have a chain and sorting, you're good to go. In this case, a new front derailleur is required for installation inches, but not because it can use 10 vs 9 on the tape. Just FYI. : O)
