Where is a good place to take an inflatable boat in Illinois?
I just bought a nice inflatable fishing boat. Belts, trolling motor, all but nine I'm not too far up the river on the idea. Can anyone recommend some good lakes? Perhaps most especially not allow motorboats? I live around the Ottawa-Streator area. Thank you!

You need life jackets for everyone on board and close enough to the coast to swim if you had returned. The water is so cold this time of year makes it even more dangerous. Safety first. In Michigan, a boat need not be registered, all with an engine does. You must set the rules for your state to avoid getting a ticket. You may need a registration sticker for your boat is the equivalent of a mark for a car. Good luck out there.
