What class of rapids beginners can safely handle an inflatable boat?
My friend and I bought an inflatable boat and plan to expeditiously the local river. I think we should go no higher than Class II rapids, but he thinks I'm too stupid, and we are ok to Class IV. He thinks that they are relatively quiet from the coast. I've been white water rafting (up to Class V) several times with a river guide and know how fast the water can be, even if it looks really quiet. But he still thinks I was always a game breaker. Am I stupid or is he stupid? Only my experience rafting tours, and he has even less experience. All answers are welcome, but I am particularly interested in hearing from people who have rafting experience and truly understand the differences between the classes of rapids, and the experience needed to safely maneuver.
I think you are wise. Class 4 rapids are very difficult to navigate, and I believe in my feeling and experience that one of you enough experience to navigate it safely. Class four rivers are described as signficant rapids and swells as many obstacles in the route, such as sweepers, log files, weeds, stones and many more things like that. Class is a flat water such as lakes or very slow moving rivers. Class two is when there is some general rapids, but nothing too big. In my opinion, is two class even a little challenging for you to do with little or no experience. I would tell you the honest truth, stay in a class 1, because it has some small rapids or minor wrinkles, but still above goes down. In Class 2, I think you should do more guided tours before this level, this is for your boyfriend trying to watch, so he is able to clearly understand the different classifications River. If he is still in doubt, sailing a phone company or other organization, such as that, and they talk to your boyfriend about the dangers of going into the mighty waters. http://www.cwr.com/information/classification.html
