Electric trolling motors vs. gas trolling motor?
I have a square stern canoe. I http://www.pelicansport.com/index.php?language=en&category=canoes&nauticalboat=bayou160 considered a 4 hp Tohatsu / Nissan, Yamaha, Suzuki or maybe 5 hp Honda or Tohatsu / Nissan. My dealer says that in all cases 4 or 5 hp engine will not be able to break the hull speed barrier. 40 or 50 lbs thrust Minn Kota should be able to cope with the power of 4 hp gas engines. It's true. Thanks.
