Do Border Collie swim?
I am considering adopting a puppy border collie from a local sheler and trying to learn about breed. I canoe / camping enthusiast and would like to small and medium-sized dog, which would also swim with us. I know, border collie can swim, But dogs who go into the water on its own? Thanks.
Yes swim, but not all of them, like swimming. Retriever breed is not like that been bred for generations to "go into the water." If you are considering a puppy is outgoing, lively temperament and you introduce into the water soon in a positive way, you have a good chance to swim partner. Just make sure that it does not fear or too tired several first time. Less is more, when the introduction of pups into the water. Hope this helps.
