Where are good places to camp and canoe in Illinois?
I live in Chicago and I and a friend wants to go camping and canoeing weekend. We camp, which is rather rare and the private sector (no crowds or families) - I'm an Eagle Scout, and rural space is no problem, we have our own facility. As for canoeing, river trip looking up to Class III rapids, if possible. We need to rent a boat. We live in Chicago, so none of the Metro would be awesome, but we're not against renting a car. Any help?
I do not know, maybe Wisconsin will be a better choice? I went camping there and they have much in business.
