canoe camping adirondacks
Where we should camp in the southwestern Adirondacks?
We are from WNY, so it's quite a trip. Are there any good camping place in the southwest corner of the Adirondacks? We really want good things in near-open canoes, rivers and lakes for swimming and rafting, interesting hiking trails (not just a walk in the woods-something with great views, challenging climbing cave, etc..) somewhere cliff jumping would be great! I hate places with tons of tourists, or the place where you need to stay on a path (such as Letchworth State Park, which is beautiful, but you can not even get into the water!) In principle, we want somewhere remote (either cabin or tent camp), where a lot of things do outside. I see all the beautiful pictures on-line Adirondacks. Adirondack is the southwest area, beautiful? Or is it more to Lake Placid? Thank You!
When I got to camp more often, I would like to stay in Piseco / speculator region. A speculator is just populated so that you get gas, ice, food Charlie John's, or see the movie when it rains. However, near the Western Canada Wilderness Creek (WCCW) area. The area contains 168 bodies of water covering 2400 acres 78 miles foot trails, and 11 lean-tos. No motorized vehicles are allowed, and if you want to get away from it all, it's not hard. There are plenty of campsites state and many private accommodation options. When I was younger, I went on a hike to T-Lake Falls. It is about nine miles to WCCW. It was Labor Day Weekend 1995, which is usually crowded last weekend of the season. We saw only two other people throughout the weekend, we got out Trailhead! How I got ten tons of camping, We began to stay in bed & breakfast outside the park in Barnevald called Sugarbush. Then we used as our 'base-camp' for our tours the Adirondacks.
